March 4, 2014 Meeting
Our own Chris Coad Taylor has graciously stepped in to do a presentation Saturday on BOOK COVER DESIGN and will do her topic for April -- cross genres -- in August. Topics will include what makes a good book cover, how designs differ by genre (and why), and how to select a book cover designer. Whether you're working with a publisher or going the self-pub route, your book will need a cover. Come get info on what sells and what to ask when working with a cover designer.
Here's a little about Chris:
Chris Coad Taylor is the founder/owner of JoHazel Publishing, an independent small publishing company that has been in business since 2006. She's also an author, member of FWA for over ten years, and an award-winning photographer who has used her art and marketing skills to produce many eBook and print book covers.

February 1, 2014 Meeting
This month is "home grown." Some of our Wesley Chapel/New Tampa group attended October's FWA state conference in Orlando. We took lots of notes, collected lots of resources and information, and we're going to share what we learned with the group. Topics will include:
* social networking -- how and why authors should be using Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, etc.
* blogging -- resources, how to woo bloggers to review your book
* screenplays -- the inside scoop
* self-publishing -- resources and suggestions
* writing contests -- how and why we should enter them
